Rung is grounded in public data and careful research. This page credits the sources it is built on.

Occupation data: O*NET

This site includes information from the O*NET 30.3 Database by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (USDOL/ETA). Used under the CC BY 4.0 license. O*NET® is a trademark of USDOL/ETA. Vigu Enterprises LLC has modified all or some of this information. USDOL/ETA has not approved, endorsed, or tested these modifications. Rung's occupation data was last refreshed in July 2026.

Pay information

Pay ranges come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (2025 vintage). They are government estimates shown for orientation.

Places

The U.S. places list is built from the U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates (2020-2024 sub-county totals). The Mexican places list is currently a curated interim set; a full build from INEGI census data will credit INEGI when it ships.

Education programs

The education program list is built from the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP 2020) by the National Center for Education Statistics, U.S. Department of Education.

Remote work suitability

Whether a job can be done from home draws on Dingel, Jonathan I. and Brent Neiman (2020), "How Many Jobs Can Be Done at Home?", Journal of Public Economics.

Fonts

Product interface. Hanken Grotesk (The Hanken Grotesk Project Authors) for headings and Atkinson Hyperlegible Next (Braille Institute of America) for body and interface text, each under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Noto Sans (The Noto Project Authors, SIL OFL 1.1) and Clash Grotesk (Indian Type Foundry, ITF Free Font License via Fontshare) are kept as fallbacks.

Resume composition. The resume typography pairings use Space Grotesk (Florian Karsten and Project Authors) with Inter (The Inter Project Authors) for the Modern style, and Hanken Grotesk with Atkinson Hyperlegible Next for the Clear style (the default), each under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The Classic and Executive styles use fonts already on your device.

Icons

The globe mark is from the JetBrains icon set, used under the CC BY 4.0 license and resized for Rung. Every other icon in the product is drawn for Rung.

Open source software

Voice detection runs on Silero VAD (Silero Team, MIT) with ONNX Runtime Web (Microsoft, MIT), entirely in your browser. Word export uses docx (MIT). The service runs on Flask and friends; the full list is on the third-party notices page.
