Terms of use
Rung is run by Vigu Enterprises LLC ("Rung"). By using Rung you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not skimmed past.
What Rung is
Rung helps you make a resume by asking about your work in plain language and drafting the wording with you, grounded in real occupation data. It is free to use, with no account.
Your resume is yours
Everything you type or say into Rung, and the resume Rung drafts with you, belongs to you. Rung claims no ownership of it. You give Rung permission to process your answers only as needed to provide the service, as described in the privacy page, and nothing more.
AI-drafted wording
Rung uses AI to help draft your resume and keeps the suggestions grounded in what you said and in real occupation data. Even so, you are the author: review everything before you send it to an employer, and make sure it is true. A resume must describe your real work honestly; Rung is built to help with that, never to invent experience.
Your content and your responsibility
You decide what goes into your resume and what you download. Rung can make mistakes. It may caution you about a line that does not read like something to put on a resume, but those cautions are a help, not a review: Rung does not check, approve, or endorse what you write. You are responsible for making sure what you download is truthful and appropriate, and for how you use it. Rung asks you to confirm this each time you download.
Job and pay information
Occupation details and pay ranges shown in Rung come from public government sources and are estimates for orientation. They are not job offers, legal advice, or a promise of what any employer will pay.
No guarantee of employment
Rung is designed to help you present your work well. It cannot promise interviews, offers, or employment, and no outcome is guaranteed.
Fair use of the service
Use Rung for its purpose: making truthful resumes and cover letters. Do not use it to deceive, to send abuse, to probe or overload the service, or to copy out its data or code for another product.
The service as it is
Rung is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Rung may change or pause features at any time. To the extent the law allows, the total liability of Rung and its operator for any claim related to the service is limited to one hundred US dollars.
Age
Rung is meant for people 16 and older.
Changes and law
If these terms change in a way that matters, the effective date above changes with it. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the operator's home state.
If something goes wrong with your information
If a security problem ever reached the records Rung holds, Rung will say so plainly: a notice on this site and on the status page within 72 hours of confirming it, saying what happened, what it touched, and what to do about it. Rung holds no names, emails, phone numbers, cities, or words you wrote about your own work, so nothing it keeps can identify you, and you will still be told. Any notice the law requires to a regulator or an agency goes out on the timeline that law sets.
Reporting a security problem
If you find a security weakness in Rung, report it to hello@rung.guru and you will get a reply within five working days. Please give enough detail to reproduce it, and hold off on public disclosure until it is fixed. Testing is welcome against your own session only. Do not run tests that degrade the service for other people, and do not access, alter, or store anyone else's data. Good-faith research reported this way will not be pursued.
