Cover letter examples
A cover letter written from the job you are applying for, in your own words, with no example to copy.
What the letter is built from
What Rung draws out
The letter comes out of three answers and the job you are applying for.
- The job you are applying for, and what that work actually involves
- Which parts of it you have already done
- One thing you want them to know that the resume does not say
- Rung writes the letter from your answers, and never invents an example
An example
A Nursing Assistant cover letter, written out
Built for this job from the same public record as the rest of Rung. The greyed parts are the ones only you can answer.
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing about the Nursing Assistant opening at the place you are applying to
In my last job I turned or repositioned bedridden patients, answered patient call signals and intercoms, and fed patients or assisted with eating.
Why you want this job, in your own words. Rung asks you for this in one question, and writes the paragraph with you.
Sincerely,your name
Yours will not say this. It will say what you did and why you want the job, in your own words, and it is written from the same answers as your resume so the two agree.

Where these numbers come from
What Rung asks here is set by its own journey configuration, published in this repository. What the work involves comes from O*NET 30.3, the US Department of Labor's occupation database, refreshed July 2026. Pay and headcount come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS release for 2025.
