What to say when you hand it out

What to say
What they need before they start, three sentences you can say, what they will ask, and what happens after.
Before you start, they need
- An email address they can check. It goes at the top of the resume, and it is the one thing Rung cannot finish without.
- The city they live in, which puts the local pay figure on the screen.
- A job they want, or nothing at all. Somebody who cannot name one chooses their situation instead.
Three sentences you can say
- This makes a resume by asking you about the work you have already done.
- It is free, there is no account, and it works on the phone in your pocket.
- You can answer out loud if that is easier, in English or in Spanish.
What they will ask you
“I do not have any experience.”
Work or study from another country counts, and so does caring for family, school, volunteering, and recent training. Rung asks about those directly and builds the resume around them.
“I do not have a computer.”
It runs in a phone browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create, and the resume saves to that phone.
“How much does it cost?”
Nothing, including at the download. That is where other builders usually ask for a card, so it is worth saying out loud.
What happens after you hand it over
- Rung asks a few questions at a time, and the questions change with the job they named.
- Every line it writes comes back for them to read and change before anything is final.
- They leave with a PDF and a Word file, and a cover letter if they want one. It saves on their device, so a cleared browser clears it too.
